Financial crisis #n? I still remember the Savings and Loan crisis, thought it would be fixed after that. Now I realize that as long as the greed motive is there and the people with power (money) make the rules there can be no permanent solution. I was relatively unaffected by the situation, that is my current financials and employment seem stable. But I know many who are in worse situations....
I wonder if those who at risk of foreclosure have considered banning together? It seems power in numbers could be effective. The banks are unmotivated to help save those in crisis. I say quit paying them. If say 100 homeowners got together and made one payment to a common pool that would be enough to purchase a house outright, no interest to the banks. Stay in your house as long as possible and participate in a common pool. Long term thinking, patience and participation and the money machine would be out of the loop.
We have flash Glee mobs, why not a sustained mortgage mob? Enough grassroots power could shake the system.
